Today was show time.  Our first game had the Men up against the Japanese National team that represented Japan well in the World Championships in April.

Both countries played well, and we snuck out a win being 2 up playing the last end with the hammer.  We ran the Japanese out of rocks, and joined Korea, New Zealand, and China with wins during the opening round robin game.

Unprecedented TV coverage for curling at Winter Games

The 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games Curling event has secured 28 hours of live daytime television coverage from this Tuesday 25th August through to Saturday 29th. This is is an unprecedented amount of TV exposure for a 'minor' sport that is enjoying a bit of a growth spurt in New Zealand. SKY Sport 3 will cover the curling as part of its Winter Games NZ package.
